5/16/2012 Requisition Number: BWR201209 Outside Sales Outside Sales, ND As a Mats Outside Salesperson located in North Dakota, you will establish a solid business base selling Mat products by travelling to meet with contractors in the oil drilling industry, pipe line industry and heavy construction, developing long-term customer relationships. Minimum Qualifications:
- 5-10 yrs experience working in the oil drilling, pipe line or heavy construction industries, including sales experience.
- Substantial relevant business contacts with contractors in the targeted industries.
- Strong sales skills with an aggressive approach.
- Good business acumen, team approach, professionalism, strong business ethics, creativity and persistence.
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and professionally with internal and external contacts at all levels.
- Proficient in internet research, lead sourcing, MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to travel extensively in the North Dakota Bakken oil fields region. Day and overnight trips, as necessary (potentially outside of the Bakken area).

Job Summary:
This position finds and qualifies flatbed carriers and negotiates a competitive market rate for each haul. A typical day may consist of finding and securing carriers to haul 20 – 100 loads from different suppliers to customers’ locations. The entire life cycle of dispatching activities include creating daily loads sheet, procuring trucking capacity, tendering freights to carriers, entering shipping information into order management system, confirming pickup time and providing delivery updates for each load to internal customers. Other duties will include updating freight rate for each line haul into a master database and work on other projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

8+ years of experience dispatching trucks

Current and extensive knowledge in trucking and flatbed carrier base through the U.S. - well networked with extensive contacts to achieve timely and cost effective loads

Strong skills and experience in rate negotiation, building carrier relationships and resolving damage claims

Excellent customer service skills
